MOVEMENT: Centro de Información's Annual Community Luncheon

  • Elgin Country Club 2575 Weld Road Elgin, IL 60124 (map)

Centro de Información's 2023 Annual Community Luncheon's theme is MOVEMENT - people moving from one continent or country to this corner of our state. Movement happens all around us as we take action and respond together.

Our guest keynote speaker this year is José Marco-Paredes, Director of Civic Engagement at the Latino Policy Forum, a Chicago-based organization with a mission to build the power, influence and leadership of the Latino community through collective action to transform public policies that ensure the well-being of our community and society as a whole. José Marco-Paredes is the Forum's Director of Civic Engagement where he oversees the Forum's advocacy and policy work in Housing and Immigration and the organization's external affairs. He also oversees and convenes the Illinois Latino Agenda 2.0, the largest coalition of Latino leaders in Illinois that work to advance the economic, political, and social prosperity of the Latino community. In addition, he is responsible for the Multicultural Leadership Academy, a leadership program that brings together African American and Latino leaders.

In addition, Centro will be recognizing supporters and volunteers to be announced.

Centro de Información's mission is to empower Hispanics with the ability to effectively integrate into our greater community through the facilitation of information, education, citizenship and well-being.
