ABOUT EAIA
The Elgin Area Immigrant Alliance (EAIA) is a community group where strategic collaborations can be organized to educate, empower, and support the immigrant community in the Elgin area.
Community volunteers, with support from immigrant-serving agencies in Elgin, work together through various committees and sectors to provide direct support and advocate for the needs of local immigrant families.
MUTUAL AID
Mutual Aid is a designated fund for local families affected by deportation. Families are referred to Centro de Información by trained volunteers from the Elgin Area Rapid Response Team.
According to the information provided for the fund, 100% of donations support families reached through this partnership, helping with expenses such as:
Rental assistance
Child care assistance
Transportation
Legal consultation expenses
